InstallingAuger Cast Piles
Installing auger cast piles requires equipment consisting of a mobile base carrier fitted with a hollow-stemmed flight auger. The auger is drilled into the ground to the desired depth and then concrete is pushed through the auger as it is taken out of the ground.
Auger casting is primarily used when installing piles in soft ground that is relatively free of obstructions like tree roots, rocks, and boulders. The process allows one to install a variety of bored piles in a number of diameters that can penetrate through a multitude of soil conditions.
